“With the 2011 vintage we are proud to celebrate 50 years of single cru winemaking in Barolo.
This 50th anniversary represents an important milestone for our family and provides us with a good opportunity to reflect on our history and the changes we have witnessed worldwide, especially regarding the climate. In 1961, Alfredo Currado showed a bold vision when he decided to make the wine from the vineyard of Rocche di Castiglione into a single cru bottling. This forward thinking substantially changed the interpretation of terroir in our region and the trajectory of winemaking throughout the region of Barolo as a whole. We have always strived to let the rocks and soil show through our wines and it has always been a point of pride for our company to interpret the wines traditionally and in line with the history and geography of the area of Barolo.”
